Health literacy is the ability to find, understand, and use information and services to inform health-related decisions and actions for themselves and others; and the ability of providers, health professionals, and organizations to speak plainly and provide information and services that are accessible, understandable, and culturally and linguistically appropriate.
Learn about health literacy, unmet needs, and strategies for improving the health of all Minnesotans. Meet health and public health professionals, providers, educators, researchers, and community members who are working hard to address health literacy needs in the state. Policymakers, organizational leadership, and the media are highly encouraged to attend.
Goals and objectives:
- Increase health literacy awareness and knowledge among policymakers, leaders, the media, and other stakeholders.
- Provide a forum for leaders and policymakers to discuss health literacy needs and solutions with members of the health literacy community and other key stakeholders.
- Highlight examples of statewide health literacy activities and applications.
- Share health literacy resources.
