Background: As the health care system is experiencing significant change, more is expected of individual consumers. However, understanding how to access affordable care can still be very confusing. With more individuals are entering the health care system now than ever, it takes all stakeholders coming together to provide the information that patients require to make informed decisions about their medical needs.
Purpose: You are invited to join us for a meeting focused on convening stakeholders from across health care - hospitals, providers, insurers, consumers, employers, patients -- to initiate a conversation focused on identifying barriers to health literacy. We are hoping to develop a shared vision to help different stakeholders recognize their role in helping consumers understand health care. Additionally, we look forward to building partnerships to make it easier for people to navigate, understand, and use information and services to take care of their health.
